Food Distribution

Ration Distribution

As part of our efforts to fight hunger during the lockdown imposed during Covid 19 Pandemic, we distributed over 2,00,000 meals in the form of dry ration kits to the underprivileged and marginalised communities in the early months of 2021. Each dry ration kit was prepared to feed a family of 4 for over 3 days.

This goal was achieved though a combination of crowdfunding and collaborations with other non-profit organisations. We’d especially like to thank Simple Education Foundation for their support. We also lent a hand and reached out to other non profit organisations in need to support, providing meals to children living in orphanages, transgender women etc.

This initiative has been our source of building a sustainable relationship with women in urban slums by aiding their families and loved ones.

Health Camp

Health Camp

We spent weeks coordinating with doctors, daycares and planning the whole event to a tee and conducted our first ever health-camp for the women working at the vocational centre as well as for the children living in the day care centre as part of the Sadak Project.

Every individual was given a full body checkup by well-qualified doctors and was treated to refreshments and snacks. We were pleasantly surprised when the women brought along their little ones and were happy to conduct check-ups for them too. Furthermore, we have arranged for medicines, follow up appointments with doctors specialising in their respective medical problems and other forms of treatments for individuals in need of medical care.

These camps are an integral part of our efforts to push for equitable access to healthcare facilities, especially in difficult times like now

Market Creation

Chhalaang Vocational Training

By generating a market for products stitched and sewn by women from marginalised communities, we attempt to ensure sustainable channels of income for these women as well as a fair wage, received by them on time for their honest work. We have sold 200+ bags at market prices, ensuring that the profit received by these women are reasonable and allows self sustenance.

Today, due to covid conditions, gender wage gap as well as lack of revenue generated by small scale businesses is already causing a massive hindrance in their livelihoods. Through our initiatives, we hope to share that burden and support them through such times of difficulty

Chhalaang Mela

In our efforts to support and spread awareness about traditional, women-led handicraft businesses, one of our first projects has been a fundraising mela where we marketed and sold various creations such as sarees, bags etc. These products have been meticulously crafted by women belonging to Bhujodi Village in Kutch, Gujarat.

With the COVID-19 pandemic bringing businesses to a stand still, these women have witnessed a rapid decline in their income. We are, hence, attempting to revive their livelihoods by creating avenues for these women to sell their product.
